In Conversation With Mothers
Mothers In Conversation Tackle Parenting Challenges In The 21st Century Almost 50 mothers from all walks of life attended the inaugural ‘In Conversation With Mothers’ event organised by Jamiyah Singapore, held last Saturday (3 August) at The Villa (opposite Halia Restaurant) at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Some came with their husbands as well. The event aimed to expand the outreach and enhance the social impact of the annual Exemplary Mother Award (EMA) which is now in its 27th year. The forum featured women leaders, former EMA winners and finalists as guest panellists who shared their experiences in tackling parenting challenges in the 21st century.
Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information as well as Culture, Community and Youth, was the Guest of Honour. Ms Sim is also the Adviser to the EMA panel of judges. Also gracing the occasion as a Special Guest was Ms Claire Chiang, Chairperson of the EMA panel of judges. The cosy, intimate set-up and the ambience of the place allowed the session to be fun and interactive. The discussions were engaging, interesting and insightful. SMS Sim Ann and Ms Claire Chiang also shared their personal experiences with the audience.
A big thank you to everyone, including the sponsors – especially The Halia Restaurant for sponsoring The Villa venue and F&B for the event – who made the Forum a success. Nomination for the 27th Exemplary Mother Award is open till 10 August 2019. Submit your nominations at jamiyah.org.sg today!
