Scope of Work:

The Finance Executive supports the Finance Department in executing day-to-day financial operations in compliance with the Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), the Charities Act, Societies Act, and the Code of Governance for Institutions of a Public Character (IPC). This role ensures accurate, timely, and systematic financial record-keeping, facilitates payment processing, and supports the financial reporting and auditing processes. The incumbent plays a key role in upholding Jamiyah Singapore’s fiscal integrity and accountability.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage GIRO donations, deductions, and applications (including Islamic Development Bank deductions).
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of new GIRO forms; ensure amendments are properly countersigned.
  • Submit completed GIRO applications to banks and update respective centres on application status (approval/rejection).
  • Maintain and update GIRO databases, including uploads to UOB platform and processing payments via UOB Internet Banking.
  • Record GIRO collections into the accounting software system.
  • Prompt issuance of receipts for all donation/payment channels (e.g., walk ins, post, PayPal, etc.) across HQ and Homes/Centres.

The Finance Assistant Manager supports the Finance Manager in overseeing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across HQ, Homes, and Centres. This role involves supervising finance staff, managing AR/AP processes, supporting audits, preparing reports, and contributing to budgeting and financial planning. The Finance Assistant Manager also ensures adherence to accounting standards, strengthens internal controls, and provides guidance to the finance team for smooth financial operations.
