Launching Of The Opening Of Nominations For 24Th Exemplary Mother Award
Jamiyah Singapore’s annual flagship event, the Exemplary Mother Award is back again for its 24th year.
The nominations for the Exemplary Mother Award was officially opened by Guest-of-honour, Ms Denise Phua, Mayor for Central Singapore District and MP for Jalan Besar, at Jamiyah Singapore, Al Malik Faisal Hall.
In his welcome address, Prof. (Adj) Dr Mohd Hasbi Abu Bakar, President of Jamiyah Singapore, announced the main partners for this year’s award – People’s Association, NTUC and MESRA.
In the opening address by the Chairperson to the Panel of Judges of the 24th Exemplary Mother Award, Ms Claire Chiang announced that there will be a charity fashion show with three local designers, Ms Kavitha Thulasidas, Ms Adlina Anis and Ms Sylvia Lim and also, internationally renowned Batik Artist, Mr Sarkasi Said.
The event was opened with a Malay dance performance by the children of Jamiyah Childcare Centre, followed by a heartfelt poem recital in Singapore’s three main languages by the children of Jamiyah Early Childhood Education Centres.
The launching was further graced by the presence of guests from various diplomatic missions in Singapore, namely, Saudi Embassy, Pakistani Embassy, Arab Republic of Egypt, Indonesian Embassy, Consulate General of Oman, and the Philippines Embassy. Representatives from Malaysia’s Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam were also there. Also present were leaders and many Malay/Muslim organisations in Singapore.

The 24th Exemplary Mother Award presentation and charity fashion show will be held on 22 October 2016.
