Jamiyah Singapore was honoured to receive a reproduction of the painting by the eminent Pakistani Painter, Mr Jimmy Engineer. The painting of ‘Tomb of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh Ali Hujwiri of Lahore’ was presented to Prof (Adjunct) Dr Mohd Hasbi Abu Bakar, President of Jamiyah Singapore by the High Commissioner of Pakistan, His Excellency Syed Hasan Javed at Jamiyah Singapore on Thursday, 7th of November 2013.
Prof (Adjunct) Dr Mohd Hasbi Abu Bakar, President of Jamiyah Singapore, Dr H M Saleem, Vice President I of Jamiyah Singapore, fellow Exco members of Jamiyah Singapore and staffs warmly welcomed the presence of His Excellency Syed Hasan Javed, High Commissioner of Pakistan and officials of the High Commission. Members of the media were also present to witness the auspicious session.
The session began with short introduction of officials from both ends after a welcome remark from Mr Mohd Hosni Abd Malik, Assistant Secretary General of Jamiyah Singapore.
Dr Mohd Hasbi Abu Bakar greeted and thanked all members for attending this event. He described Jamiyah-Pakistan long tradition of cordial relationship. Having supported each other through attending various events and through humanitarian work, he thanked High Commissioner of Pakistan for the gift of art.
His Excellency Syed Hassan Javed, praised Jamiyah for promoting the culture of brotherhood caring and sharing. He also commended Jamiyah for epitomizing active philanthropic work unlimited to territorial boundaries bringing different civilisations together.
Pakistan High Commission pledged full support for Jamiyah’s mission and expressed deep involvement in social cause through exchange programmes in future.
The session ended with exchange of tokens of appreciation. It was certainly a beautiful day of artistic appreciation and warm exchange of greetings.
