Objectives

To care for the orphans and children from the disadvantaged families,
regardless of race or religion. The main objective is to give the orphans
and children from the disadvantaged families,regardless of race or religion,
proper care and attention especially in their education, health, discipline
and character development. It is hoped that this will make them
good citizens, useful to the community and the nation.  

History

The problem affecting our community is the issue of children being
neglected as a result of marriage break-up, death, abandonment due to poverty.
Elling North Primary School was converted into Jamiyah Children's Home with the cooperation of the Ministry of Community Development, Ministry of Education
and the Land Office, Ministry of Law.

Jamiyah Children's Home (Darul Ma'wa)was officially opened
by the Honourable BG(NS) George Yeo, Minister for Information and the Arts,
on the 24th of July 1993.

Services

Provides Holistic residential programme for the welfare of the children
who at the same time attend normal schools

Facilities

Can accommodate 100 children, boys and girls between the ages of 6 to 18.
